Choosing Publications

Today, I started to think about submitting my writing to one or two publications.

So, from my following lists, I was looking through

titles,

subtitles,

parts of articles, and

the whole piece of articles.

Also, I was reading publications’ guidelines. I didn’t know that I can change the color of the photo to fit their concept, or I just didn’t know that they value that aspect. They also mention that they will work with you if the writing piece is not rejected or accepted, which means it will have a chance to get published through them but it may take some time until then.

Some writers wrote about their experiences of being accepted by doing such and such (e.g. editing and more editing, writing to the editors). Their experiences of getting rejected were also mentioned. Some said they were discouraged by receiving an email saying that their writing was rejected. Others said the rejection was usual. Unexpected acceptance by publications also happened.

About one publication I read about today, their acceptance rate was 10%.

The number however didn’t discourage me because I’ve already motivated myself to try.
